Melbourne City Lexus George Thoms Cricket Match

Melbourne City Lexus was the major sponsor of the annual Cope-Williams Winery Cricket Match.

Melbourne City Lexus is the major sponsor of the "George Thoms Cup". The annual Cricket Match of the Western Health Sunshine Hospital was held at the Cope-Williams Winery in Romsey.

Almost 120 guests attended this event along with the cricket team of 40 medical practitioners.



George Thoms was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 1996 for his service and work in the Sunshine Hospital. Mr Thoms also played cricket for Australia against the West Indies in the 1951-52 fifth Test at Sydney. He made 44 runs, after a first class career with Victoria, scoring 1137 runs at an average of 35.53.
