Lexus Australia will reveal its sleek luxury coupe convertible LF-C concept vehicle alongside the all-new IS250 at the Australian International Motor Show, which will run from 14 to 23 October in Sydney.
The sporty new IS250 will be the latest new Lexus model to join the luxury marques line-up and will be launched later this year.
Following on the success of the GS300 and GS430, we expect IS250 to make a serious impact on the luxury market, and attract many new luxury customers to the brand, said Scott Grant, divisional manager, Lexus Australia.
The LF-C is the third in a series of sleek concept vehicles to showcase Lexus bold new styling language, first seen in production on the GS300 and GS430 released earlier this year.
The concept vehicle, which was an inspiration for the new IS250, uses an unusual hardtop roof that transforms the car from a coupe to a convertible at the touch of a button, disappearing into the boot.
The vehicle is built on a large rear-wheel-drive platform and is powered by a high-output, front-mounted V8 engine mated to a six-speed sequential automatic transmission.
The LF-Cs broad stance and short overhangs strike an aggressive pose.
Inside, its ample dimensions allow it to comfortably accommodate four adult passengers.
The LF-C features a futuristic and sleek interior, with drive-by-wire steering and Formula One-inspired gear lever and steering wheel.
Displaying breakthrough interior design, its dashboard gauges are stacked along the steering column axis, ascending toward the base of the windscreen.
The gauges are transparent, with needles moving from their outer edge, rather than the centre.
A dynamic and flowing centre console, in a solid tapered form, runs the length of the interior.
Displays and controls are hidden beneath this transparent console surface that is multi-layered, which creates a sophisticated, high-tech look and feel.
The console is flanked on each side by arched, wing-like instrument panels situated low in front of the driver and passenger to create a feeling of openness.
Integrated lines simplify the overall form of the LF-C. The distinctive roof rail tapers as it moves forward from the rear, mimicking the sculpted theme of the main body.
The extreme tapering of the main body shape from front to rear, which is then wrapped and interlocked by the rear bumpers, is designed to show strength and power from every angle.
