the FIRST LEXUS PLUG-IN HYBRID
Desire is more than the intangible.
It’s a Plug-in Hybrid that offers a superior all-electric driving range.
The Lexus NX 450h+ uses a highly efficient electric motor for a portion of every journey, so you can use electric for short trips and petrol for longer ones. There’s no compromise on performance or luxury either, with features and finishes that elevate every drive.
In the Lexus NX 450h+, every desire makes perfect sense.
High performance, less tailpipe emissions
Lexus NX 450h+ delivers an all-electric driving range, low fuel consumption and exhilarating performance. The Plug-in Hybrid Electric (PHEV) powertrain combines Lexus Hybrid performance with stunning Electric Vehicle (EV) capability.
It delivers an EV driving range of up to 87km (NEDC)2, average fuel consumption of 1.3L/100 km3 and exhilarating performance with 227kW of combined power and 0 to 100km/h in approximately 6.3 seconds.
Power is supplied by Lexus Hybrid technology using a four-cylinder 2.5-litre petrol engine specially engineered for use in hybrid systems and a rechargeable 18.1kWh lithium-ion battery.
convenient charging
Lexus PHEV have Alternating Current (AC) Type 2 charging capability so you simply plug in at a power source – either at home or at the growing network of charging stations. To prevent tampering, the charging port lid lock works in coordination with door locking/unlocking.
The NX 450h+ has a highly efficient onboard charging system with a 6.6kW maximum output.
On average, charging the NX 450h+ on a completely empty battery can take approximately 7.5 hours on an AC charger (Type 2) and approximately 2.5 hours with a maximum charging current 32A (found in public charging outlets).4
The benefits of plug-in hybrid
HOW THE PLUG-IN HYBRID SYSTEM WORKS
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) use a conventional petrol engine and an electric motor powered by a battery that can be recharged through the hybrid system or by connecting to an electricity supply. By selecting EV mode it can perform as a pure electric vehicle and when the battery gets depleted it combines petrol with renowned Lexus Hybrid technology.
POWERTRAIN MODES FOR EVERY DRIVING CONDITION
The NX 450h+ has been crafted for optimal flexibility for the driver, as they can change between four driving modes — EV Priority mode, Auto EV/HV mode, HV mode, and Battery-charging mode — by pressing the switch. In Auto EV/HV mode, if the accelerator is fully depressed, or if more power is required temporarily such as for sudden acceleration, the engine will start, enabling powerful HV acceleration.
